Start a Clinic

ECHO’s core activity is helping organizations start health clinics to serve their community’s financially vulnerable. Churches especially have the direct mission to engage in this ministry, as well as access to the resources (both financial and volunteer) to launch charitable healthcare clinics.

By engaging volunteers and leveraging relationships in the community, organizations across America are having a direct and critical impact on the people around them who lack health insurance and, therefore, access to quality, affordable healthcare.  They are also changing the lives of the volunteers that engage in this mission by giving them a new purpose and greater insight into the lives of their vulnerable neighbors.  While most of ECHO’s initial clients have been churches, in only a short time, ECHO has proven that organizations of all sizes and natures can be successful in this work.  ECHO clients are in large metropolitan areas as well as rural and small town environments. Wherever there are vulnerable people who need healthcare and organizations who are willing to meet that need, ECHO can help.

ECHO provides its services to organizations starting clinics at minimal cost except for a portion of ECHO’s site visit related travel expenses.  ECHO provides a consultant who is skilled and experienced in charitable clinic work. In addition, ECHO has developed tools to help in clinic planning and operations. ECHO also provides access to other related organizations important to the launch and operation of clinics.

If you believe that your group might be interested in starting a health clinic please fill out the electronic version of our Initial Interest Questionnaire or contact us using the information on our contact us page. The questionnaire will help us understand your readiness for this rewarding, but challenging task. Next, an ECHO consultant will contact your group to discuss our consulting process and your responsibilities as a sponsoring organization of a charitable healthcare clinic. If both parties agree to proceed, a simple Memorandum of Understanding will be executed and an ECHO consultant will be assigned to help you and the process will begin.
